Raised in a family that promoted investments and business as a way of life, Brent began working early on the family ranch in Northern California. By the end of junior high school, he was working full time in a small business that catered to tourists and travelers moving up and down Interstate 5. Mentored by the owners and managers, he learned early the difficulties small businesses can encounter that are, often, out of their control- and how to best prepare to succeed, no matter what the situation.
Prior to graduation, the middle of his senior year, he was fortunate enough through a chance encounter to meet Sarah, the girl he would later marry and start a family with. They’re still together, over 17 years later.
When the time came to leave his small hometown after graduation, Brent embraced his love of engineering and science and joined the elite US Navy Nuclear program. He then went on to teach for the Navy, and later served onboard the USS Michigan (SSBN/SSGN 727) before leaving the service in 2004. While in, he gained extensive training and experience in management, engineering, and gained a Bachelor of Science degree from New School University in Manhattan in Business and Human Resources Management.
After finding that a career in engineering and family life were difficult to enjoy together, in 2006 on the advice of a friend he had served with, Brent moved into the investment industry. The business came second nature, and after finishing registration through the NASD (now FINRA) and the Washington State Department of Insurance, Financial Power Services was born.
Over the following years, the business would change and grow with the economy. A transition to Allstate Financial Services was followed by attaining his CFP® certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board. In mid 2015 the decision was made to make another change, this time to allow for more service and specialization for clients seeking financial strategies for their businesses or personal lives. The name, Templar Financial Services, was chosen for the message of protection and guidance. Brent currently resides North of Woodinville, WA with his wife, Sarah, and daughter, Audrey. He is involved with multiple veterans service organizations, and a member of the local masonic lodge in Edmonds WA.
